#16: I heard that military competency to Flight Instructor is going away? This is just a bad rumor, and it is false.

We can't verify where this rumor started, but here is some info:

1) Flight Standards in Washington still supports this military competency to Flight Instructor law (14 CFR 61.73) and has no action pending to reverse the law.

2) Federal law contained in 14 CFR 61.73, 61.197, and 61.199 have been expanded with respect to Military Competancy accomodations. In addition, see the FSIMS job guide at the following link:
